Amber May has worked at Summit Academy Preschool for 5 years, she was hired as the Preschool Director July 2020. Amber is currently finishing her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Grand Canyon University. Amber has worked in preschool for over 15 years. She is bringing play based learning centers into the preschool and enrichment program, children learn best through their play!

Amber has been married for 14 years and they have 2 children. Their children are busy in sports, gymnastics and chasing after the 3 cats the kiddos have! As a family they play mario kart, animal crossings and the legend of zelda. Amber’s family likes to vacation in Ouray, Colorado where they go “jeeping.”

Amber enjoys reading, going to the movies and watching YouTube videos on preschool curriculum/ideas. Amber loves learning new preschool tips/tricks and planning preschool lessons!

Afterschool and Summer Camp Director

I've had the privilege of working at an Afterschool program throughout my years at the University of Utah, where I graduated from Human Dev. Fam. Studies with minors in Psychology and Health in 2014. A goal of mine was to open and run my own program someday. I continued working as a Coordinator after graduation for SLCSD, until an opportunity to open and run my own program became a reality with Summit Academy in 2018. Working with kiddos and being able to teach and explore different subjects/projects is the best part of my job. My favorite subject we do would have to be Active Enrichment because students and teachers are able to get up and move, which is very much needed after a long day at school. Also, it's just fun to challenge or be challenged by the students, until realizing how much energy I lack in comparison.
A bit more about me on the personal side: I have a daughter, who has become the light of my life, 2 mini doxies- so totaling three children, and a husband. Some hobbies I enjoy are watching movies, traveling, picking up mini hobbies (photography, certain sports, sewing), BOXING and being Happy! I love what I do. It brings me so much joy hearing students say "I don't want to go home yet" or "pick me up later next time", meaning I'm doing my job right.

Hello! My name is Mrs. Kaitlin, and I am the Preschool Administrative Assistant. I am the one behind the scenes. I was born and raised in Arizona, then moved to Utah to attend Utah Valley University. Where I later graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Family Science. I have been married to my husband for 3 years now and we have the sweetest little boy. His name is Ryker & he just turned one in December. He is my tiny best friend and the one that keeps me on my toes…constantly! I absolutely adore being a mother and I adore getting to be apart of the amazing staff/ program here at Summit Academy Preschool.
